Eat your greens

Do you read? Have you read How Not To Die by Dr Michael Greger? I cannot express how fantastically eye opening it has been so far. I stumbled across this book whilst at the airport searching for something to feed my boredom. This book is the bible to being healthy, it covers every disease we as humans seem to get diagnose every second around the world. It cover fifteen chapters from the most typical diseases, heart, brain, lung, cancers, diabetes and many more. Everything is broken down to why, when and how we seem to grow these horrific illnesses, and it comes down to what we eat! Yes! Do you actually keep track of all the processed foods you eat on a daily basis? I do, that's why I purchased this book, and I think you should too if you want to live a full, long healthy life.
Everything can be prevented by eating the right foods, and the base of this should be quitting smoking, I used to smoke, I stopped just under a year ago when I moved to Oslo but sometimes I have the occasional one if I'm drunk, but that's not very often anymore!
This author is a genuin genius, the book is thoroughly well explained and I already have gained so much knowledge so far. Think about this, humans were put on this earth from nothing, what did humans eat before we had all these processed foods? Plants, fruits, vegetables, berries, nuts, beans, basically everything that grows from the ground. So how is it that today we can go to Mcdonalds and purchase a burger which god knows what it's made of? This people, these are the causes for all these health issues we have in todays society, all the chemicals we consume in everyday life that we chose not to pay attention to, I find it terrifying.
I'm sure you can google healthy food recipes, but half of it probably isn't so healthy. The fruit and veg we buy from the supermarket, did you know all of it is grown using pesticides, which are heavily toxic chemicals? So when we think we are having a healthy salad, probably 50% or less of the nutrients are not there anymore, they have been murdered by this liquid farmers spray on everything. The answer to this would be going Eco, but of course it's a little mor expensive, can you really put a price on your health?
I am highly promoting this book and I hope people gain a conscious from this, what we eat today will affect how we feel later when we need the energy the most.

  3. Hi Sarah! This sounds like such a great book. Late last year I started to get really bad acne on my face....out of nowhere. I had clear skin most of my life. It was so upsetting. After going to a natural doctor, I realized that what I was eating was contributing to the breakouts. I've been trying to cut out the processed foods, sugars, etc....but it's really tough. Hopefully, one day....I'll have clear skin again. Anyways, you are beautiful and this outfit is so chic! Thank you so much for stopping by my blog!
